Renée is an author, speaker, MC plus the writer, director, co-producer of the award-winning feature documentary Ticketyboo: a Secret in Plain Sight. She’s published a book called Ticketyboo: an Illustrated Story of Learning to Love Dementia. Her film sparked a PhD about social impact making her an emerging expert in the field.
With 20+ years in front of the camera, Renée’s interviews have gone viral globally and changed conversations around some of the biggest issues we face today. She has many real world experiences she crafts into inspirational stories that appeal to broad and niche audiences.
A common response to her presentation style is, “I’ve never looked at it that way before” – testament to her creative, fresh approach to the work she does and loves.
She’s interviewed all types of people from CEOs, Oscar winners, pioneering scientists, ordinary people doing extraordinary things, right through to infamous criminals. She was the first person to interview Chopper Read on TV, which continues to be a viral sensation. She also played her real life role as a TV reporter opposite Eric Bana in the film, Chopper.
Her easy going, personable style means people on stage or being interviewed by her feel at ease. She's expert at rescuing people if required helping them to let go of being perfect and embrace being real.
In 2007, Renée got a backstage pass to the front line of the Middle East war earning an ADF/FACE medallion of recognition for her volunteer services in Iraq & Afghanistan. She has crafted a keynote or after-dinner presentation using her own photos that invite audience reflection and participation, told with gentle humour that connects us with the humanity of conflict.
She also has 20+ years of hosting Q&As, panel discussions with audience participation for a range of clients including such the Australian Cinematographers Society with highly technical content in film and television panel discussions at SMPTE conventions, glamorous award galas right through to warm, heartfelt events celebrating community success stories.
Renée is an experienced MC providing the glue at an event, keeping to schedule as well as an inspiring Speaker for conferences and after dinner entertainment. She can work to a strict brief or help devise event content with relevant audio-visuals.
She can handle unpredictable live events like MCing an Oscars telecast at a fundraising lunch right through to a heavily vetted event with content that conforms to specific legal requirements on sensitive topics such as fraud, private security and the tricky topic of international baby formula.
Renée is the guiding light that helps make an event shine.
