Genevieve Clay-Smith

Genevieve Clay-Smith is an unbelievably accomplished film director, social entrepreneur and woman in business. But it’s not what she’s done that defines her. It’s what she hasn’t.

Award-winning across the film and advertising industry and Not-for-Profit sector, she’s been determined to make social impact the focus of her career. When Genevieve won Tropfest in 2009 with her first inclusively made film, Be My Brother, she eschewed the glitz and glamour for a non-traditional career pathway in order to pioneer change in the film industry.

She is the co-founder of a social enterprise dedicated to helping people from marginalised communities learn about film making, so they can have their wants, needs, opinions and desires communicated and recognised. She’s pioneered employment opportunities for people with disability in film and advertising, facilitating over 300 work placements and employment opportunities for people with intellectual disability.

She is also the co-founder and non-executive director of award-winning creative agency, Taste Creative and sits on the NSW Arts and Culture Advisory Board Committee.

Genevieve has chosen the road less travelled by, and it has made all the difference. She just might help you change the path you take in life.
