About Moya Dodd AO

Moya Dodd AO is a lawyer, award-winning sports activist, and a former Matildas vice-captain.

She played in FIFA’s first-ever women’s tournament in 1988 - and 25 years later joined the board as one of the first women in its 108 year history.

In a deeply male-dominated system, she had to navigate integrity issues such as a $29,000 gift watch, and a pre-dawn raid on a luxury hotel where colleagues were arrested as she slept.

In the ensuing FIFAGate crisis, Moya led a global movement for gender equality reforms in football that have changed the women’s game.
